Sceirde Rocks Windfarm, Survey works and Supply Business Chain Event Oct 23
Fuinneamh Sceirde Teoranta (FST) have confirmed that survey works at sea around the Sceirde Rocks site have commenced this week and will continue for the next few weeks. The surveys will gather necessary environmental information needed for the design and development of the project’s planning application.
On Tuesday 10th October over 50 national and local suppliers and businesses attended an event in Carna hosted by FST outlining the opportunities that will be available for supply chain companies during the construction and operation of the Sceirde Rocks project. FST were delighted with the turnout and response and thanked all the local help and support received to date with the project.
Once operational, Sceirde Rocks is set to generate enough clean electricity to power more than 350,000 homes and help achieve Ireland’s goal of generating 80% of its energy through renewables by 2030. The project will also deliver an estimated €70 million over 20 years to local communities through the Community Benefit Fund.
